SmartSlope rendering by ASGVIS Studio for Furbish Company

ASGVIS Visualizes Growing Green Movement with Furbish Company

Specializing in plant-based building systems, including living roofs and indoor bio filters, Furbish Company sought the expertise of ASGVIS to visualize what vegetated retaining walls, or retaining structures integrated with vertical garden space called SmartSlope, would look like before their construction started and prior to seeds being planted.

ASGVIS performed a panoramic animation of the SmartSlope solution, taking photos of the concrete building sections, existing retaining walls and a grown-out vegetation wall, conceptualizing what the green solution would look like surrounding a waterfront cottage. The V-Ray renderings for Furbish Company allow the Brooklyn, Maryland-based green building firm to visually communicate how the vegetated retaining walls look following installation and after plants have grown in to cover the concrete masonry.

“ASGVIS has the tools and creativity to tell our story,” said Michael Furbish, president and founder of Furbish Company. “From our many projects around the mid-Atlantic region, we can show off the before and after photos, but something is missing: the transition from vertical hardscape to green landscape. The ASGVIS team was able to see the entirety of the project, envision everything in between and animate two years of plant growth into four, very influential seconds.”
